Lost – the viral posters
Posted by Ricardo | Filed under Viral Campaigns
ABC usually tries to promote the new seasons of Lost with viral content (being the ARG !The Lost Experience” in 2006 the most paradigmatic example).
And for the 6th and final season, one of the things they’re doing is this: they commissioned posters to 16 artists, about the most talked about events of the series. These posters will be sold in the limited editions of 300, for $50 each, at “Ronie Midfew Arts”, which the guys at io9.com think it’s an anagram for “Widmore Fine Arts”! Oh, and there will be a new poster each week.
Apparently this seems like one more thing to promote the series, but the fact is this first images are already all over the web and creating buzz amongst fans.
The first poster, by Tim Doyle, is titled “The Numbers” and has Hurley as protagonist:

O second one, already sold out, is about Locke and mimicking Hitchcock style posters. It’s called”Lock’s Secret” and was created by Olly Moss:

And finally (for now) there’s a poster created by Methane Studios, “The Darma Van”:

Check out the Ronie Midfew Arts website over the next weeks as new posters will come out and, who knows, become viral.
