Viral video prediction: Dyson bladeless fan

Tech videos sometimes go viral.

That has been the case, for instance, with Google Wave’s presentation (a 80 minutes video with more than 5 million views), Boston Dynamics Big Dog… in fact, writing this is giving me the idea of doing a top5 tech viral videos post.

And yesterday I learned about this new product from Dyson (you know, that company that does cool looking – and expensive – vacuum cleaners): a bladeless fan.

That just blew (no pun intended) my mind! And watching the video on their page, now on Youtube, I just realized this might very well be a viral video in the next few days.

And why’s that?

- it’s a WTF moment when people come into contact with it: “wait a minute… a fan? With no blades?”

- as people start knowing about it, they’ll want to tell their friends about this strange new technology of an established product design.

Now the question is what video about it (as there are several already on youtube). I believe the one in question will be the one with people’s reactions to it.

The one above is going with 3225 views at the moment.

But the next one is also a good candidate also, where the inventor Sir James Dyson explains his invention:
